Where plant medicine meets our wishes and needs

We tend to live our lives without tuning in to what we need. We have learnt to turn to outer sources of wisdom, guidance and truth. This has kept us safe for a long time. We could ignore our true inner power and stay in our comfort zone, without seeing our light.

The movement away from our essence, has disconnected us from the treasure of authenticity that lies within us. Our needs and desires offer us precious information. They open the gate to our essence and show us the way.

When we listen to our needs, no matter how simple or plain they may seem, they actually help us take healthy steps and lead a life that feels meaningful to us.

What plant medicine can do for us

Plant medicine touches upon our subconscious, those parts of us that are otherwise unavailable to our awareness. It effortlessly brings our beautiful needs to the surface, making them accessible and easy to communicate with.

It invites us to look deep within and see what requires our care and attention. The medicine cuts to the chase and finds its way through any noise that distract us from who we really are… and what we really need.

It is much like water that makes its way through the soil and penetrates the very core of the earth.

Which needs require our care and attention?

Our need to be seen and heard, our need to be held, our need for more tidiness in our home, our need to redefine a relationship, our need for a new job,…

What do I need?

Whether you are yet to embark on your first plant medicine experience, you have sat with medicine many times or you wish to deepen your integration process… ask yourself this one simple question to deepen your connection with yourself and life:

What do I need?

When our needs become more apparent, we restore our sense of agency. As we find out more about ourselves, we find our unique ways of healing. It empowers us to communicate in a more efficient manner about who we are with the ones we love and appreciate. We can course correct and move forward from a place of love and connection.

When we feel off, confused or dispondent, these four words can create the opening to our inner world and deeper layers.

The gift of our needs becoming apparent

Asking the question ‘what do I need’ can:

– Bring the energy from our heads and minds to a more centered place in our bodies (a sign of grounding)

– Help us release tension through yawning, sighing, crying,… (signs of nervous system relaxation)

– Assist us in remembering that our inner child wishes to be heard and seen (a sign of mature care for ourselves)

– Invite our inner voices to express themselves (a sign of returning to our essence)

What do I need…?

Now, in this situation, in this connection, on this day, before going to this meeting, after this experience, as a health ritual,…

Even long after our (last) ceremony, we can still obtain beautiful answers.

Ayahuasca Spirit, what do you wish to tell me about my needs?

Wachuma Spirit, which needs can you show me that I cannot see right now?

Whether you reconnect with the spirit of the plant medicine you drank and feel its energy again, or you are preparing to drink – plant medicine is a powerful pathway towards perceiving and acting upon your needs.

May we all honor our needs, and the medicine they bring.
