Ceremony invites you to journey through altered states of consciousness. This shift in consciousness makes you more receptive to Ayahuasca’s voice, which expresses itself through a variety of tones. By this, we do not refer only to the auditory aspect of her voice—which may indeed be part of your experience during ceremony—but to all the ways in which she shares her medicine with you.
When Ayahuasca bestows her messages upon you—whether in the form of purging, insights, visions, emotions, sensations, or any other expression—you may or may not immediately understand what she wishes to communicate. It takes time, diligence, and discernment to recognize her expression and integrate its meaning.
A True Mother
Mother Ayahuasca speaks all the languages of the world. Her communication is universal. More importantly, she knows exactly how to speak to you as a unique individual.
Ayahuasca will morph into that which you need most.
She can appear in a gazillion different ways, depending on what is most appropriate in that exact moment and what is essential to your healing. Due to her higher intelligence, she can take on any form throughout your journey. You will find that her voice can shift from one ceremony to another during one of our longer retreats (–> insert link to 7 day Embodiment Retreat) and even from one moment to the next within the same ceremony.
Just like a mother, she intuitively knows which voice to use as she cradles her beloved child and gives them what they need.
You may perceive her voice as soft, clear, decisive, mysterious, frightening, masculine, or countless other qualities. You might even recognize her voice as that of an ancient presence.
Mother Ayahuasca reflects back to you what your subconscious is bringing to the surface—and so does her voice.
Like a mother raising her child, she offers love, compassion, and tenderness where they are needed. She brings structure and clear guidance through changing sensations and visions, leading the way with a gentle yet unwavering presence.
Sometimes she’ll give you tough love. Sometimes she’ll arrive like a tsunami of truth. Sometimes she’ll stand by your side as you confront your greatest fear.
One thing remains constant: she never leaves. She wants you to grow, evolve, and move beyond what limits you. That is why she’ll become whatever you need her to be for your highest good.
The Great Mother expresses unconditional love.
The Voice of Ayahuasca – One of Many Tones
The Mother’s messages are sometimes symbolic. Examples include visions of an animal representing an aspect of yourself, sacred geometry, or ancient symbols.
In other cases, her messages are very tangible. Think of stagnant energy being physically removed through purging, or a gentle touch from the Maestro or co-facilitator, who channels Ayahuasca’s motherly love.
At times, Ayahuasca’s language is very straightforward. You may see your father appear in your mind’s eye after setting the intention to heal your relationship with him.
The bottom line is that your ceremony will offer a perfect blend of messages, each serving its own purpose.
The key to understanding Ayahuasca’s voice lies in discernment and exploration of the potential meanings for you. This is where the true labor of integration begins. You are invited to process the material that has been generously shared with you while resting in the Great Mother’s womb.
A Deeper Reason for Everything
In a safely guided ceremony, there are no flaws. Everything that happens has a deeper reason and its rightful place. Mother Ayahuasca is present even before the ceremony begins and remains with you long after it has ended. She is present not only in your body after drinking, but also in the atmosphere and in the people who surround you. She is there in the smallest details, in the icaros, and in the words that are shared during the ceremony.
She may show up as a fellow participant saying something that stirs a memory within you, the co-facilitator asking whether you need help at the exact moment you were feeling lonely, or deep purging that finally releases you from a burden.
As you open up more and more, you become more receptive to what Ayahuasca wishes to communicate. Following the diet and preparing consciously for your retreat are key to experiencing Ayahuasca in her fullness.
As you move closer to a state of expanded consciousness, it becomes easier to communicate with Mother Ayahuasca in a more fluent way and to connect more of the dots.
Of course, her messages continue to unfold and deepen over time as you keep sitting with the spirit of Ayahuasca—whether through deep integration in the days, weeks, and months that follow, or by reconnecting with her during your next ceremony or retreat, if you deeply feel her call again.
