Stepping into Peru’s Sacred Valley, you leave the familiar behind and enter a place of quiet power. Willkamayu Spirit—nestled beneath snow‑tipped Andean peaks—offers Plant Medicine Retreats in Peru that combine traditional Ayahuasca ceremonies with focused healing work and integration. Here’s a clear look at what awaits you at our ceremony home, Willkamayu Spirit. This is where modern integration practice and ancient medicine weave together.
Arrival & Opening Ceremony
You’ll be welcomed at Willkamayu Spirit with a simple coca‑leaf blessing, an opening prayer, and preparation circle, then settle into your room. At your second circle, an Andean or Shipibo maestro guides you through intention‑setting: perhaps to confront shadow work you’ve carried for years, or to embark on deeper self‑compassionand healing.
Dietas & Preparation
In the days before your first ceremony, you follow a dieta—a plant‑based menu that excludes meat, alcohol, and spicy foods. This regimen isn’t just tradition; it sensitizes your body to Ayahuasca’s effects and primes your nervous system for subtle medicine from the Peruvian Amazon vine. Simple meals and morning herbal teas help you tune into your inner landscape.
The Ceremonial Heart: Ayahuasca
When nighttime comes, you’ll gather to sit with Ayahuasca —this is where you will move through visions that range from profound insight to vivid encounters with both your shadow work—old wounds, forgotten emotions – as well as your inner strengths and guidance. Tears, laughter, or silence may surface, but each moment guides you toward courage, clarity.
This is why we offer supportive integration practices like inner-child work during the days (read more below) in addition to ceremony; because these revelations so often come through in the form of past experiences that the inner-child is the keeper of. The integrative support helps us understand more thoroughly what the medicine reveals; by learning from the inner-child we are able to create peace and reconciliation between what is, what was, and what is yet to be in our lives.
Most retreats include two to four ceremonial evenings, depending on your program length.
Integration & Reflection
Daylight brings space to process your journey. In integration circles, you discuss symbols and experience with your maestro, then work with an experienced facilitator, on peeling back the memories and moments that are connected to the experience you had with the medicine. This structured Integration phase ensures that insights stay alive when you return home.
Complementary Therapies
If you feel the call to go deeper, our complementary therapies provide additional support:
Inner‑Child Workshops:
This is our integration support at Willkamayu Spirit. Our inner-child facilitators meet with guests who choose this package during the day. The inner-child workshop includes guided meditations, journal prompts, sharing circles and reconnecting with the wise and young self who has witnessed your entire life. This is where we get a sustainable understanding of how the medicine relates to our inner-world.
Family Constellation Sessions:
Everything we carry—our beliefs, emotions, and even struggles—can often be traced back to our family system, passed down through generations. These invisible ties can keep us stuck, repeating the same cycles without knowing why. Guests can add this complementary therapy onto their package to support a larger lens on the symbols and medicines wisdom in relation to our broader experience.
Rite of Womb Ceremonies:
A healing. A blessing. A rebirth into the deep, loving essence of being a woman. This two-hour ceremony is a sacred space to reconnect with your womb, to honor her wisdom, and to release what no longer serves you. In an intimate and safe circle, we come together to share, to be vulnerable, and to support one another. Through water, fire, and flowers, we call in healing and renewal.
Massage & Reiki:
Release tension and rebalance energy through hands‑on healing.
Return to Daily Life
Before your departure, there will be a closing ceremony. One that honours the energy of the land, ayahuasca and wachuma. That honours your unique process you had during your retreat; the deep connection and rememberance. We will share and set clear intentions for the coming travel home and for the work of true integration into your regular day to day life.
